Modifications

Sometimes changes occur after a divorce that are so significant that they warrant modifications of the original orders. Generally modifications do not apply to issues relating to property, but may apply to such things as child support and/or alimony, and parenting plans. When changes occur that make compliance with the existing orders unduly burdensome or impossible, it is the responsibility of the person seeking the change to file the necessary paperwork with the court for modifications to the existing agreement. Until modifications are made the original orders continue in effect and compliance with the orders is expected.
